Officials say crews will begin branch pick-up from Chatham Road to 8th Street, between South Grand Avenue and Washington Street, and from Chatham Road to 11th Street, between South Grand Avenue and Iles Avenue.  The first round of pick-ups are expected to last four-to-six weeks, with subsequent rounds taking about three-to-five weeks.

Residential branch pick-up will be on a three-to-five week schedule, from May until November.  A map showing pick-up locations can be found on http://www.springfield.il.us/. ; Those who wish to participate should make sure their branch piles are no larger than three feet in height, four feet in depth, and 10 feet in length.  Branches must be placed on the curb, and cannot obstruct the street or sidewalk.

Residents may also drop off branches for free at Evans Recycling with proof of residency.  Officials also say that this service is not for commercial contractors.
