Officials release information on 2015 Decatur Celebration

DECATUR - Decatur Celebration organizers have revealed their plans for this year's 4-day event.

The 30th annual Decatur Celebration will take place in downtown Decatur on August 6, 7, 8, and 9.  Officials say this year's celebration will have double the entertainment budget thanks to a $150,000 donation by ADM.  A complete list of this year's headliners can be found below:

·    One of America's Hottest Live Southern Rock 'n' Roll Bands, Blackberry Smoke
·    Multi-Platinum Country Music Quartet with 9 #1 Singles, Lonestar
·    Multi-Platinum Country Artist, Deana Carter
·    VMA, Soul Train Award, and AMA Winning Chart Topping Songstresses, En Vogue
·    ‘90s Hip Hop Icon and DIY Network Star, Vanilla Ice
·    Chart-Topping Christian Soulful-Pop-Rock Band, Unspoken
·    Emerging Christian Music Artist, Moriah Peters
·    High Energy Show Group, Vince Vance & the Valiants

Regional bands and original acts will also be featured on the Celebration's eight stages.  A kick-off concert featuring Home Free and LoCash Cowboys will be held at the Decatur Civic Center Arena on August 6, with tickets for that performance going on sale on June 1.  Traditional sights, like blocks of authentic arts and craft booths, carnival rides, the Razzle Dazzle Goodtimes Parade, the Kids Block, and more than 60 unique food items.

Additionally, officials say they will host a Season of Celebration Concert Series in Central Park throughout June and July in honor of the Celebration's 30th anniversary.  These concerts will be free to the public, and will feature festival foods and games.  We've included a list of performances below:

Finally, Decatur Celebration 50/50 Raffle Tickets will make a return this year.  The tickets will be sold by local non-profit organizations and King and Queen candidates throughout the summer.  The tickets will be sold for $10 each, and participating non-profits will receive a portion of the proceeds.  The raffle winner will be drawn on August 9 at the Show Stage.  Country Financial Band Together Wristbands will also be sold, with participants having a chance to win $1,000 each night of the festival.
