Illinois Army National Guard Soldier arrested for alleged aggravated criminal sexual abuse

ILLINOIS - Illinois State Police say an Illinois Army National Guard Staff Sergeant has been arrested on a warrant of alleged aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Authorities say Staff Sergeant Michael Evrley was arrested on Thursday at the Illinois Department of Correction's Academy, where he was training to become a correctional officer.  Police say the charges stem from alleged incidents involving a juvenile female that occurred in Christian County.

The investigation into these incidents are ongoing.  Evrley is currently being held at the Sangamon County Jail on $50,000 bond.  We will provide more updates as they become available.
