SIU School of Medicine students and faculty participate in 2nd annual day of service

SPRINGFIELD - More than 170 Southern Illinois University School of Medicine students and faculty members will join the Enos Park Neighborhood Improvement Association for the school's second annual day of service on May 8.

Officials say EPNIA will be aided by students and faculty in preparing and planting gardens, painting, mulching playgrounds, and cleaning alleyways in Springfield's Enos neighborhood.  The effort started at 8:45 a.m. near the Third Presbyterian Church, and will conclude at 4:00 p.m.

According to SIU School of Medicine Associate Dean David Steward, MD, this day of service is a good way to deliver the School of Medicine's mission to be a service to the community.
