Supporters of Crime Victims' Bill of Rights Amendment meet in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD - Supporters of the Illinois Crime Victims' Bill of Rights Amendment have traveled to Springfield to ask Illinois State Senators to approve that legislation.

Supporters of the legislation say they are meeting at the Illinois State Capitol on May 11.  Advocates for Marsy' Law for Illinois say the legislation was approved by voters last November, and that the Illinois House passed the measure in a 112-2 vote on April 23.  The measure aims to strengthen the current Crime Victims' Bill of Rights.

Officials from the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence will also be in attendance.  We will provide more details as they become available.
