Notre Dame set to Visit Champaign in Big Ten-ACC Challenge

CHAMPAIGN -- The matchups are set for the 2015 Big Ten-ACC Challenge.

The Fighting Illini will host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the 17th edition of the annual event, which gives college basketball fans some of the premier matchups of the college basketball non-conference season.

Notre Dame finished the 2014-2015 season ranked 5th in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, and reached the Elite Eight of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

According to Illinois athletics, the December 2 matchup will mark the first game in State Farm Center following Phase 4 (labeled as the most comprehensive phase) of the arena's renovation.

Illinois plans to play their first five games at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.

ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will combine to televise all 14 games of the event matching top college basketball programs playing for conference supremacy and the Commissioner's Cup. All 14 games will also be available via WatchESPN.
