DECATUR – If you're planning to get away this summer, security experts are issuing another warning to make sure you take extra precautions against cyber criminals.

Identity theft, digital extortion, and data corruption have increased dramatically over the last year.

One of the mistakes many people make while on vacation is assuming that public hot spots are safe.

The Department of Homeland security says, when connecting over mobile, to make sure to: 1. Only access the internet over a secure network, 2. Be suspicious of unknown links or requests sent through email or text, 3. Download only trusted applications.
