RCC partnering with National Foodworks Services

DECATUR - Richland Community College is partnering with National Foodworks Services, LLC to help facilitate food entrepreneurism in central Illinois.

Richland officials will meet with NFS officials for a formal agreement signing Wednesday afternoon.  National Foodworks Services is also planning to develop a food "Incubator," which includes a bakery, wet kitchen, specialized packaging and distribution equipment, and a separate processing kitchen for allergy-free products.

In addition, an aggregation center for hydroponic farming products and locally-farmed products is being planned.  NFS officials also say the company will offer food processing, packaging, distribution, entrepreneurial development, marketing, and financial services to entrepreneurial individuals and companies.

Both entities say this collaboration could result in economic growth in the community.
