Springfield police investigate armed robbery

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's help in its investigation into an armed robbery incident that took place on May 13.

Springfield police say this incident happened in the parking lot of Washington Middle School at about 10:15 p.m.  In this incident, an employee at the school was returning to his vehicle after work when he was approached by four black males.  Authorities say three of the males were armed with handguns.

Springfield police also say after the employee was robbed, he was detained by the four men for a period of time.  Police say the suspects then left in the employee's vehicle, which was later recovered near 25th Street and Cook Street.
