Urbana School District offering free breakfasts and lunches to kids

URBANA  - Urbana School District #116 will offer children ages 18 and under free breakfasts and lunches next month as part of a nationwide program.

Officials say this effort is part of the federally sponsored Seamless Summer Food program.  Free meals will be offered Monday through Thursday throughout the month of June.  All children ages 18 and under will be able to participate, regardless of enrollment in summer school or home of record.  Additionally, meals will be provided to individuals over the age of 18 who have a state-defined mental or physical disability.

We've included locations and times that kids will be able to receive the free meals below:

Urbana Middle School, located at 1201 South Vine Street
June 8 through July 16; Monday through Thursday only
Breakfast: 8:15 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Lunch:  12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Leal Elementary School, located at 312 West Oregon Street
June 8 through July 2; Monday through Thursday only
Breakfast:  8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Wiley Elementary School, located at 1602 South Anderson Street
June 8 through July 2; Monday through Thursday only
Breakfast:  8:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Lunch: 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
