Rauner introduces five bills to Illinois Legislature

SPRINGFIELD - Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner has announced he plans to introduce five bills to the state Legislature on Friday.

The bills would affect a wide range of topics, such as freezing property taxes, setting term limits for state lawmakers, and making workers' compensation insurance cheaper for businesses.  However, state lawmakers only have a few days left to discuss the measures before the current session ends.

A proposal for a "right to work" initiative is notably absent from the bills being submitted.  Rauner supported the proposal, but the initiative was defeated in a Illinois House vote last week.
