Hitting The Highway or Hitting The Trails

DECATUR- The unofficial summer weekend has arrived and plenty of people were getting out of town to celebrate.

Not since 2009 has the Memorial Day weekend seen gas prices this low on an average, $2.66 per gallon.

But, if hitting the highway wasn't in your plans for the weekend some local adventures are available to help fill the extra time on this extended weekend.

Rock Springs has a few scheduled events this weekend. Along with the always open and free hiking, fishing and biking attractions.

Programs Director Jeff Tish said, “A lot of opportunity to come out and relax and enjoy the weekend. There's a plethora of fun things to do.”

A dulcimer band will play on Sunday and a wildflower hike will be led on Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

And if you are looking for even more to do, Overlook Adventure Mini Golf is offering a special family special on Sunday, 4 members of a family get in for $20.

You don't have to travel to have a good and safe time this Memorial Day weekend.
