DECATUR - A Decatur man who was found guilty in the April 2012 shooting deaths of his cousin and his cousin's wife will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Authorities say Demarta Cunningham was sentenced to life in prison Thursday afternoon.  Cunningham was convicted on first-degree murder charges in December 2014, in connection with the deaths of Freedom Cunningham and Central Cunningham.

Decatur police say Freedom and Central Cunningham were shot to death at their Wabash Crossing home in April 2012.  Authorities say the shooting was allegedly over drugs and money.
