Stricter Administration Term Limits

DECATUR- A proposal could make term limits even stricter for community college presidents.

A proposal in the Illinois senate is looking to cap severance packages for community college administration and enforce tighter term limits.

Sparking the proposal was the severance deal made with former College of DuPage County President Robert Breuder who received $763,000.

This proposal has met resistance on both the senate end as well as with local community college trustees.

Chair of Richland Community College's Board of Trustee's Bruce Campbell said, “I think they've got bigger fish to fry than to meddle in another governmental bodies business.”

The Board of Trustee's along with community colleges, operate as an independent form of government.

The proposal is waiting to be heard by the assembly before their summer adjournment.
