Rantoul police investigate shooting

RANTOUL - The Rantoul Police Department is seeking the public's help in its investigation into a shooting incident that happened on May 10.

Rantoul police say officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Maplewood Drive in response to a report of shots fired.  Upon arriving, officers say they found a 27-year-old man who had sustained an apparent gunshot wound.  The man was taken to a local hospital via ambulance, and at this time, officers believe the injuries to be non-life-threatening.

During their investigation of this shooting, Rantoul police say they learned that one or possibly two individuals were involved.  The first suspect was described as a black male, wearing a black-colored hooded coat and possibly a black mask or bandana.  The second suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black-colored hooded coat.
