American Heart Association donating CPR kits to high schools

MACON COUNTY - American Heart Association officials say they are donating "CPR in Schools" training kits to all high schools in Macon County.

The training kits are being made available to the high schools through a private donation.  Officials say the reusable kits can help hundreds of students learn core CPR skills in less than 30 minutes, as well as choking relief skills and AED skills.  Each kit will contain 10 reusable, inflatable mannequins, instructional DVDs, and facilitator guide.

American Heart Association officials say more than 326,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen nationwide each year.  Officials also say these CPR training kits can teach people techniques that could potentially save someone's life in cardiac arrest-related incidents.
