Lincoln Elks, Illinois Elks and ALMH Bring Free Clinic to Children

LINCOLN – The Lincoln Elks #914 Lodge, in cooperation with the Illinois Elks Children's Care Corporation and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, are sponsoring a free children's orthopedic assessment clinic on Tuesday, June 23.

It will be held at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Assessments will be conducted by David Olysav, MD.

The clinic will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, but it is by appointment only. No medical referral is necessary. Physicians, as well as school nurses, are welcome to refer patients to the clinic. This clinic is an ideal time for having a child reviewed for bone and joint development. Families are encouraged to bring their child in if they have an uncorrectable deformity, complain of back, knee, leg, ankle pain or have a back curvature.

If a family lacks resources to seek further treatment or afford specialty equipment, The Elks Organization will provide financial assistance to the best of their ability. In the past, the Elks have funded therapy services, corrective shoes, braces, orthotics, wheelchairs and augmentative communication to assist children in overcoming their physical challenges.

The organization has been working with physically challenged children since 1928. They have 17 clinics throughout Illinois.

The clinic will take place at 200 Stahlhut Drive in Lincoln, IL. Appointments can be made by calling the Illinois Elks Children's Care office at 1-800-272-0074 between 9 AM – 4 PM, Monday through Friday. There will be no charge for any services performed at the clinic. Another is scheduled for October 9.
