Mercy Gardens participating in State Farm Neighborhood Assist voting program

Posted:
DECATUR - Decatur Is Growing Gardeners and The Good Samaritan Inn officials are encouraging central Illinois residents to help a local horticultural job skills training program win a $25,000 grant.

The grant is being provided through the State Farm Neighborhood Assist voting program.  Officials say Mercy Gardens has made it to the top 200 out of 3,000 causes in this program, and that it needs the community's help in being selected.

Central Illinois residents can vote 10 times a day until June 3.  There are two ways to vote, either by searching "State Farm Neighborhood Assist" on Facebook, or by visiting https://www.state-assist.com/cause/1501212/mercy-gardens.

Officials say all funding received will go toward the Mercy Gardens program, which teaches basic job skills through produce production and landscaping.  For more information on Mercy Gardens, visit www.goodsamaritaninn.org.
