iTV-3 Announces Construction in Second Urbana Neighborhood

URBANA – A second Urbana neighborhood has acquired enough sign-ups for iTV-3 to begin construction.

The first introduction of the gigabit fiber-optic broadband service to the community took place on May 8, 2015. iTV-3 was installed in the home of Bruce Komadina and Jenny Putman on Delaware Avenue near the intersection of Carle and Delaware.

This most recent installation will be located in the neighborhood south of Florida Avenue, east of Race Street, west of Vine Street and north of McHenry Street.

Crews are continuing construction of the first neighborhood as they work on the second neighborhood. Workers will be laying conduit and vaults down each street.

Other neighborhoods are close to the 50% commitment level. This means they could see construction soon.

iTV-3 is a television, phone and Internet service. The service is in a private-public partnership with the UC2B fiber network.
