Springfield Old State Capitol Plaza Hosts Artist On The Plaza

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Area Arts Council is once again bringing performers to entertain patrons from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Performances take place on the South Plaza of the Old State Capitol on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Old State Capitol is located at Old State Capitol Plaza, 6th and Adams Streets, Springfield, Illinois. Artists will be present from 12 PM to 1 PM each day.

The series features local performers. They range from singers to dancers of all ages.

Artist on the Plaza is free to attend. We have the June schedule listed below.

June Schedule

Tuesday, June 2 – Tim Garman, unexpected music on the dulcimer

Thursday, June 4 – Springfield Area Youth Jazz Band, jazz

Tuesday, June 9 – Dennis Darling, folk

Thursday, June 11 – Midwest Winds, U. S. Air Force Band of Mid-America

Tuesday, June 16 – Kathryn Raistrick, Spinning Songs and Demonstration

Thursday, June 18 – Rylie Bourne, country singer/songwriter

Tuesday, June 23 – Central Illinois Irish Dancers, Irish folk dance

Thursday, June 25 – Flute Choir with Theresa O'Hare, instrumental music

Tuesday, June 30 – Hoogland Kids/Teens/Juniors, vocal music
