Danville officials seeking police officer, firefighter candidates

DANVILLE - Danville officials are encouraging residents to apply for probationary police officer and probationary firefighter positions with the city.

Officials say application packets must by submitted to the Danville Human Resources Office by 4:30 p.m. on July 31.  Applicants must meet or exceed the following minimum requirements:

- Must be between the ages of 20 and 35 at the time of submitting the application.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be physically fit and have good vision.
- Must pass a background check.

Additionally, police officer applicants must have at least 15 credit hours of course work from an accredited college by the time of appointment.

Applicants will participate in a testing process consisting of a physical agility test in August, a written test in September, and an interview in October.  An eligibility list for each position will become effective on December 6, 2015.
