Decatur Park District offering summer tennis programs

DECATUR - The Decatur Park District is inviting central Illinois residents ages three through 18 to learn a new sport or improve their tennis skills with tennis programs being offered this summer.

Officials say all sessions will be held at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex under the direction of USPTA Master Professional Chuck Kuhle.  We've included a list of programs available below:

Tiny Tots Tennis:
This course is a beginner class designed for kids ages three through five.  The course will meet on Mondays, from June 8 until July 27, with half-hour sessions being held at 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10:00 a.m.  The cost to participate is $35, or $29 with a resident discount.

Ten & Under Tennis with USTA:
This course is designed for kids ages six through 10.  Players will use smaller area, nets, and youth-friendly racquets, and will receive a team uniform, racquet, and foam ball.  This course meets on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. from June 9 until July 28, or Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. from June 11 until July 30.  The cost to participate is $75, or $72 with a resident discount.

Beginner Tennis (Ages 11 & 12)
This course is designed for kids ages 11 and 12, and will allow participants to learn a new sport while making new friends.  This class meets for one hour on Mondays and Wednesdays, from June 8 until July 29.  The cost to participate is $56, or $50 with a resident discount.

Teen Tennis (Ages 13 – 18)
Teens ages 13 through 18 can improve their tennis skills in this course.  Classes meet from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from June 9 until July 30.  The cost to participate is $56, or $50 with a resident discount.
