Southern Illinois authorities identify man who died in house fire

COLLINSVILLE - Southern Illinois authorities say a man who died in a house fire on Thursday has been identified.

Madison County Coroner Steve Nonn says the body was identified as Jason Grant, 36.  Madison County authorities say Grant was found inside the Collinsville home's kitchen.

According to Nonn, the preliminary autopsy results revealed that Grant most likely died from smoke inhalation and burns, pending toxicology tests.  Authorities say they will continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
