Decatur Public Library Opens New Local History Room June 13

DECATUR – The Decatur Public Library in downtown Decatur is unveiling a new, expanded Local History Room on Saturday, June 13.

This new room will have the space to showcase the library's entire local history collection. There will also be more room to work and use computers for searching online resources, as well as scanning photos or documents.

Visitors will be able to view the history of Decatur through photos, documents, books, yearbooks and other memorabilia.

The grand opening on Saturday, June 13 will start at 1 PM. Library patrons are invited to stop by any time between 1 PM and 3 PM to celebrate the new addition to the library.

Ribbon-cutting is set to start at 1:15 PM. Refreshments will be served in the library lobby.
