American Red Cross Seeks Nominations To Honor Local Heroes

Posted:
SPRINGFIELD – The American Red Cross serving South Central Illinois is seeking nominations for local heroes in a variety of categories due June 14.

Hero nominations are being accepted in eight categories: Civic, Community, Healthcare, Military, Public Safety, Senior, Youth and Workplace.

These heroes are defined by the American Red Cross as “every day people” who do “heroic things that make our community a better place to live.” Heroes can be nominated by completing the Heroes nomination and sharing that hero's story.

Those who win will be recognized at the inaugural Heroes of the Heartland Dinner on Friday, July 24. The dinner will take place at 6 PM at the Crowne Plaza (3000 South Dirksen Parkway) in Springfield, Illinois.

Nominations can be submitted online at redcross.org/il/springfield/2015Hero. Interested parties may also call the American Red Cross at 217-787-7602 to get a form.

For sponsorship or ticket information, contact Catie Franks at catie.franks@redcross.org or by phone at 217-450-7360.
