Springfield police to donate bicycles to not-for-profit organizations

Posted:
SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department has announced that it will donate bicycles to two local not-for-profit organizations on June 11.

Officials say the donations will take place in front of Municipal Center East at 10:00 a.m., and are part of the department's annual Spring/Summer Bicycle Charity Giveaway.  Springfield police say the bicycles that will be donated were found by citizens or police, and have gone unclaimed by their owners.

Officials also say the two organizations that will receive the bicycles are Contact Ministries and Springfield Community Federation.
