CWLP crews respond to power outage in downtown Springfield

SPRINGFIELD - City Water, Light and Power officials say services have been restored after a Thursday morning power outage in downtown Springfield.

Officials say the outage affected about 900 customers in an area roughly bound of Fifth Street, Carpenter Street, 19th Street, and Lawrence Avenue.  Troubleshooters on scene say they have identified a fuse that has blown at the Jackson Street substation.  Crews say the cause of the blown fuse was a piece of bad underground cable.

CWLP officials say all power was restored at about 10:25 a.m.
