The Economics Of The Decatur-Forsyth Classic

Forsyth – The Decatur-Forsyth Classic is underway this weekend at the Hickory Point Golf Course.  The golf tournament, part of the Symetra Tour, means a nice economic boost for the local economy.

“We think there's a $500,000 economic impact,” tournament director Cindy Deadrick-Wolfer told WAND's Doug Wolfe.  “They spend money in the grocery stores, in the restaurants and the gas stations, the hotels.  So, it's huge for our small businesses.”

This is the 31st year for the tournament in Forsyth.  Play continues through Sunday afternoon and is open to the public.
