Jacksonville makes final round of Bark for Your Park contest

UPDATE – The Jacksonville Bark for Your Park campaign officials report they are currently in first place after competing for one week in the final round of the Bark for Your Park contest.

Whoever receives the most votes in the competition will receive $100,000 toward building a PetSafe dog park. Four runners-up will receive $25,000. Jacksonville is currently the overall leader in the PetSafe contest.

Jacksonville Bark for Your Park will also be holding events to raise support and awareness about the contest. Their latest event will take place at Leo's Pizza at 230 South Main Street in Jacksonville, Illinois. It will start at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 30 and continue until 11:45 PM. Attendees can contribute 15% of their dine-in or carry-out order to the campaign by mentioning the Bark Park.

JACKSONVILLE - Jacksonville residents are one step closer to winning $100,000 for a new dog park.

Officials for PetSafe's Bark for Your Park contest say Jacksonville has succeeded in making it to the final round.  Illinois residents will have a chance to determine which city gets the money, as the final round of the contest will be determined by a vote.

Officials also say voting will open at 12:00 p.m. on June 17, with the top prize of $100,000 being awarded to the city with the most votes.  For more information on how you can vote, visit jaxbark.com.
