WAND/Senior Center Fan Drive kicks off June 18

Posted: Updated:
DECATUR - Central Illinois residents are encouraged to help low-income senior citizens stay cool this summer by participating in the 2015 WAND/Senior Center Fan Drive.

The Fan Drive will kick off with a one-day event at Walmart North in Decatur on June 18, from 7:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Residents are encouraged to come to the WAND tent near the front entrance and donate a fan.

Decatur-Macon County Senior Center officials say the fans will be distributed to elderly residents who have not received a fan in the past two years and have an annual income of less than $17,505 for a household of one, and $23,595 for a household of two.  Officials also say that no replacement fans will be available for fans given last year.
