LOVINGTON - The Lovington Police Department and the Moultrie County Sheriff's Office are investigating the drowning death of a four-year-old boy on June 16.

Authorities say the child was found in a pool in Lovington at about 7:35 p.m.  Officers who responded to the scene, as well as a Lovington Ambulance Paramedic, began CPR in an effort to resuscitate the boy.

Macon County Coroner Michael Day says the boy, identified as Seth Hilton, was transported to St. Mary's Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m.  Day says preliminary autopsy results show no signs of traumatic injury to Hilton.

The investigation into this death is ongoing.  We will provide more details as they become available.
