CHAMPAIGN – The Champaign Community Coalition is hosting “Walk-As-One,” an event that will distribute community safety and crime prevention information to Champaign-Urbana residents.

The Champaign Community Coalition strives to identify strengths and needs of the community by highlighting resources that benefit youth and their families. During the event, volunteers will knock on 500 doors in the Champaign-Urbana area and distribute pamphlets containing safety and crime prevention information for the community. Volunteers will also talk to families about youth programs available in the summer.

This event will take place on Thursday, June 18. Volunteer check-in begins at 5 PM at Booker T. Washington Elementary located at 606 East Grove Street in Champaign. Once all the volunteers are checked in, the walk will begin at 5:30 PM and continue until 6:30 PM.

The walk will end at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary at 1108 West Fairview in Urbana.

If the event is rained out, the rain date will be Thursday, June 25.
