UPDATE: More Details on Traffic Crash on Park Road and Glasgow Road

Posted: Updated:
UPDATE – The Macon County Sheriff's Office reports the injured occupant from the Park and Glasgow Road traffic crash has been transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield with what is believed to be life threatening injuries.

The Sheriff's Office received the call concerning the crash at 6:35 PM. Upon arrival of the Warrensburg Fire Department, authorities located a 69 year old female from Sullivan trapped inside a 2011 Chevrolet. The car had collided with a 2009 Ford pickup truck driven by a 41 year old male from Harristown.

Authorities say the preliminary investigation indicates the Ford truck was northbound on Glasgow Road, and the Chevrolet was westbound on Park Road. The Ford driver said he stopped at the stop sign and collided with the Chevrolet upon pulling into the intersection.

North-south traffic on Glasgow Road is controlled by a stop sign. The east-west traffic on Park Road is not required to stop.

The Ford driver has been arrested for Aggravated D.U.I. and booked into the Macon County Jail.

Due to the extent of the injuries, the Macon County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Team and the department's D.U.I. Enforcement deputy will be assisting in the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, and we will provide more details as they become available.
