URBANA - The Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation has announced that it has suspended the license of an Urbana-area physician assistant who is facing sexual abuse and unlawful restraint charges.

According to IDFPR Spokesperson Terry Horstman, the license of Richard Offenback, Jr. was temporarily suspended on Wednesday.  Authorities say Offenback was arrested and charged in April 2015 with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and three counts of unlawful restraint.

Documents released by the state Department of Financial and Professional Regulation reveal that a hearing with the department's Medical Disciplinary Board will take place on July 16 to discuss any further action that could be taken.
