DECATUR - The Good Samaritan Inn and Decatur Is Growing Gardeners officials have announced that a local job skills training program has received $25,000 from State Farm.

Officials say Mercy Gardens won the $25,000 grant through community support during the final round of voting in the final round of a State Farm contest.  Additionally, officials say Mercy Gardens received 85,554 votes during this contest, beating out nearly 4,000 other causes to place in the top 40, resulting in winning the money.

The grant will be used to sustain and expand the current Mercy Gardens training program and its 3-acre farm.  For more information on how the money will be used to benefit Mercy Gardens, visit The Good Samaritan Inn's and DIGG's Facebook pages.
