Numerous Shootings Reported in Decatur June 20

DECATUR – Decatur Police Sergeant Josh Sheets reports four shooting incidents that occurred on the night of Saturday, June 20.

Shootings were reported on the following streets: Waggoner, Leafland, Marietta and Condit.

Two subjects were shot at 500 West Waggoner. There were no life-threatening injuries. Police say they did not find any suspects on the scene when they arrived, and no arrests were made.

A home in the 500 block of West Leafland was fired upon. Police report no one was injured. Suspects were not found, and no arrests were made.

Another home was under fire in the 800 block of West Mariette. No injuries were reported. Police have not made any arrests in this incident.

An individual who lives in the 200 block of East Condit arrived at Decatur Memorial Hospital claiming to have a gunshot wound to the back. Doctors were not able to determine if the wound was caused by a bullet. The subject says he heard gunshots in the area before feeling a sharp pain in his back.
