SPRINGFIELD - Central Illinois Foodbank officials say they recently received a $30,000 donation through the ADM Cares social investment program.

Foodbank officials say the donation will be used to ensure that donated food is properly inspected, inventoried, and distributed to agencies for use by central Illinois residents.  Central Illinois Foodbank Executive Director Pam Molitoris says the donation will help in the fight against hunger in central Illinois.

ADM Cares directs funds to programs that improve the quality of life in communities, as well as programs that support responsible agricultural development and volunteer activities.  The Central Illinois Foodbank helps to distribute more than nine million pounds of food to Illinois residents in 21 counties.
