DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation Foundation officials say registration for the annual Prairie Pedal bicycling fundraiser event on September 27 is now open.

Participants will be able to ride on 20, 40, or 62-mile routes along scenic country roads during this event.  The event will be held at Rock Springs Conservation Area, with start times for the 40 and 62-mile routes set from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., and 20-mile route participants starting between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

The entry fee is $25 per rider until September 10, and $30 per rider from September 11 until September 27.  The fees will include a t-shirt, well-stocked rest stops, SAG support vehicles to assist riders, and a chili lunch.  All proceeds will support natural areas and wildlife in Macon County.
