Dog Days of Summer Returns to Lake Shelbyville

 SHELBYVILLE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is inviting area residents and their canine pets to join them for the Dog Days of Summer Dog Show on Saturday, July 4.

This will be the 21st annual Lake Shelbyville Dog Show.

Participants can enter their dogs in the following categories: Best Trick, Best Dressed, Smallest Dog, Biggest Dog and Most Precious Puppy. There will be prizes and plaques awarded to the winners of each category. Owners can enter multiple dogs, but only one dog per owner will be allowed in each category.

The leash regulation states all dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet in length while at the show and in any recreational area at Lake Shelbyville. This leash regulation is ensure the safety of both animals and people. Dogs present must also be up to date on all of their vaccines.

This show will be held at Coon Creek Recreation Area Amphitheater located on IL-128 in rural Shelbyville. Registration begins at 4:30 PM, and the show starts at 5 PM.
