Local Girl Scout Troop hosting coal ash documentary screening

SPRINGFIELD - Pleasant Plains Girl Scout Troop #6195, the Sangamon Valley Sierra Club, and Working Films are teaming up to host a screening of a documentary about the potential health hazards of coal ash on June 30.

Officials say "Coal Ash Stories" will be screened at the Lincoln Public Library at 6:30 p.m.  After the documentary, audience members' questions will be answered.  Girl Scout officials say they hope to raise awareness of the potential impact that coal ash could have on human health and wild life.
