Lake Shelbyville Reports Good Conditions for Independence Weekend

SHELBYVILLE – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville report the lake will be open to all visitors with plenty of water.

Lake officials say the lake is projected to crest on Friday, July 3 with 610.6 feet above sea level. This is with no additional rainfall. The lake was recorded on June 29 at 7 AM as being 609.59 feet above sea level, which is 9.89 feet above normal summer pool levels.

All campgrounds, boat ramps and courtesy docks are open to use for the upcoming weekend festivities. Wolf Creek and Eagle Creek State Park are open as well. Dam West Beach, Lithia Springs and Sullivan Beach are open to swimmers.

Wolf Creek Beach, located in Wolf Creek State Park is also open to the public. This facility is open from 11 AM to sunset daily. There is a visiting fee of $1 per person.

Wilborn Creek Beach and Coon Creek Beach are unusable at the current lake elevation along with some secondary facilities.

The Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center is open daily, Sunday through Thursday 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
