American Legion Hosts Veterans Hiring Event

SPRINGFIELD – A Veterans Hiring Event will be taking place at the Prairie Capital Convention Center on Friday, July 10.

This event will take place during the Annual State Convention of the American Legion. It is being held by the American Legion Department of Illinois with the support of the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA), the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (ESGR) and the Hero 2 Hired (H2H).

All veterans, military spouses and employers are invited to this free event. The event will start at 10 AM and continue until 2 PM at the Prairie Capital Convention Center located at 1 Convention Place in Springfield, Illinois. Event organizers hope to secure good jobs for veterans and assist employers in hiring them.

Commander of the American Legion Department of Illinois Hank Robards explains this event embodies the American Legion's mission: service to veterans.

“We are committed to helping veterans find good jobs,” Robards says.
