MCCD hosting "Aquatic Critters" program

Posted: Updated:
DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is inviting central Illinois residents to learn more about aquatic animals during its "Aquatic Critters" program on July 12.

Officials say this program will be held at Fort Daniel Conservation Area in Decatur from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.  Participants will use buckets and nets to collect and release live creatures from streams during this event.  Officials say you should wear clothes that can get muddy or wet without being damaged, and that all other equipment will be provided.

This event is open to the public, with the cost to participate set at $3 per person.  You will also need to pre-register online by July 10.  For more information, or to register, visit www.maconcountyconservation.org.
