ISP increasing patrols during Independence Day weekend

Posted: Updated:

ILLINOIS - Illinois State Police say troopers will be conducting high visibility patrols this holiday weekend in an effort to keep roadways and motorists safe.

Authorities say troopers will be on the lookout for the "fatal four" violations; DUI, speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, and distracted driving.  ISP District 18 Commander Captain Joseph Kollins says troopers wish to change the bad habits that lead to those "fatal four" violations.

Illinois State Police remind residents to use their seat belts, don't use your cell phone while driving, and don't drink and drive.
