ISP Trooper arrested in connection with 2014 incident
CHICAGO - Illinois State Police say a Chicago ISP trooper has been taken into custody in connection with an incident that happened in 2014.
Authorities say the trooper, a six-year veteran of the department, turned himself in at the Cook County Sheriff's Office on Thursday. Officials say the incident happened while the trooper was off-duty, and that the trooper is facing preliminary charges of home invasion (two counts) and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
The trooper has been placed on administrative leave of absence pending the outcome of the investigation, and remains in custody on $150,000 bond. No further details have been released by the Illinois State Police.
