URBANA - The Urbana Fire Department says 3 people were injured after a vehicle struck a restaurant on the city's north side Friday afternoon.

Urbana Fire Department Division Chief Kyle Hensch tells WAND News that the incident happened at Lil' Porgy's, located in the 100 block of West University, at about 12:42 p.m.  According to Hensch, the vehicle struck the northwest corner of the building, which housed the kitchen area.

Authorities say three employees were burned by grease during this incident, with one individual suffering burns to 30 percent of their back.  Hensch says the other two employees sustained "superficial burns to their arms."  All three were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Hensch also says the driver and passenger of the vehicle that crashed into the restaurant escaped serious injury.  The names and current conditions of the individuals involved in this incident have not yet been released.
