First Gig Rock N' Roll Camp for Kids kicks off this week

Posted: Updated:

DECATUR - Central Illinois children ages 10 through 17 will be given a chance to have a real "rock star" experience during the second annual First Gig Rock N' Roll Camp for Kids from July 6 until July 10.

Officials say participants will record music in a studio environment, create their own "band merchandise," and will learn about sound production, instrument maintenance, and the music industry from a business standpoint during this day camp.  Participants will also work on vocals, as well as skill with the guitar, bass, and drums.

The five days of practice and learning will culminate in a Saturday performance.  The concert will be recorded, and a concert DVD will be made available for parents.
