CHAMPAIGN - Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County officials say eight central Illinois residents will take part in the 23rd anniversary of the Habitat 500 Bike Ride on July 12.

In order for cyclists to participate in this 500-mile trek through southern Minnesota, they must raise a minimum of $1,000 for Habitat for Humanity.  All proceeds raised through this event benefit Habitat for Humanity affiliates throughout the country.

Habitat officials say the following individuals from central Illinois will participate in this year's event:

- Bryan Lake
- Bryan Snodgrass
- Nancy Melin
- Sean Morrison
- Liz Mallott
- Hannah Lake-Rayburn
- Chris Lubienski
- Anne Robin.

Additionally, officials say local residents Jeri Lake and Steve Rayburn will provide SAG wagon support during the event.  For more information about the Habitat 500, visit www.habitat500.org.
