Two Men Identified in 121 Crash

HEMAN – In an update to a story WAND brought you on July 7, the Macon County Coroner reports he has determined the identities of the two men who died in an apparent head-on collision on Illinois Route 121.

Autopsies say the driver of the pick-up truck involved has been identified as 47-year-old Robert Doty of Decatur. The driver of the passenger vehicle has been identified as 22-year-old Jonathan Franklin of Lincoln.

Both men were assessed by the coroner. Their official time of death was set at 11 AM.

Dental records for both men were acquired and used to make positive identifications. The McLean County Morgue performed the initial autopsy procedures. Logan County Coroner Robert Thomas assisted in the notification and identification process of the Lincoln resident. Exact causes of death are still pending completion of final autopsy testing and issuance of the final autopsy reports.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a crash reconstruction of the incident.
