SPRINGFIELD - U.S. Attorney for the Central District of Illinois James Lewis has announced that a Champaign man has been indicted on multiple child pornography charges.

Lewis says Ryan Hayman, 39, was indicted by a federal grand jury on July 10.  Hayman currently faces charges of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Authorities say Hayman was arrested on June 18, 2015.  If convicted, Hayman faces between five and 20 years in prison for the distribution charge, and a maximum of 20 years for the possession charge.  Hayman is due back in court on July 17.

Lewis adds that the charges are a result of an investigation by the Urbana Police Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations, the Illinois Attorney General's Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the East Central Illinois Cyber Crimes Working Group.
